e:XL SubwoofersLow Level Inputs
The RCA jacks allow you to connect your subwoofer to either the subwoofer out of a receiver or processor, or the sub woofer output of an external crossover, like the Energy EAC. Using the subwoofer output of a receiver or processor does not remove low frequencies from your main speakers, and they will continue to produce bass frequencies.
The Low Pass Filter switch has to be in the 'out' position, thus disabling the LP Filter. This method bypasses the subwoofer's frequency controls, but not the level or phase controls. The low pass filter switch should remain in the 'in' position for use of the subwoofer without an external crossover. MicroStar Subs easily connect to even the newest digital amplifiers.
Low Level Outputs
The outputs from these RCA jacks is actively filtered below 80 Hz, 6db/octave. When these jacks are connected to your system's amplifier inputs, the result is increased dynamic range, lower distortion, and overall system performance while adding extra protection to the main speakers. Permits a connection that guarantees maximum performance of the entire speaker system.
Audio Video Switch
This switch adjusts the extreme low frequency characteristics of your subwoofer. If switches from 0 to +3db to precisely match the subwoofer with the acoustics of your listening room. Allows a quick and simple way of boosting the deep bass characteristics.
Subwoofer Bass Volume Control
This rotary control adjusts the output level of your Energy subwoofer. Used to balance the level of the subwoofer with that of your main speakers.
Low Pass Filter Control
This continuously variable control adjusts the high frequency roll-off of the subwoofer from 50Hz to 100Hz. It is used to precisely match the sub woofer bass Production with that of your main speakers
Variable Phase Control
This rotary control allows matching of the phase of the subwoofer with that of your main speakers. Continuously variable at any position of the low pass filter from 0 to 180 degrees, it compensates for the mid-bass acoustic effects of different speaker locations and listening room effects. Guarantees perfect blending Into any room, regardless of less than ideal placement.

The new e:XL-S12, boasts a new driver with a 62-ounce (1.76Kg) magnet in its vented cabinet. Its voice coil is a huge 2-inches (51 mm). Compare those component size to the entire motor structure of competitors.
Major performance upgrades have also been made to the new e:XL-S10 vented 10-inch (25.4 cm) model. The new driver's magnet is 28-ounces (800gm), and it has a voice coil diameter of 1 1/2 -inches (38 mm). The e:XL-S10 is also magnetically shielded for more flexibility in home theater settings.
